EA Reaches Agreement To Purchase DiRT Developer Codemasters for $1.2 Billion
It was just over a month ago that Take-Two Interactive, the parent company of both Grand Theft Auto's Rockstar Games and Borderland's 2K Games, looked prepare to acquire UK studio Codemasters. While the bargain was nevertheless to be finalised, a fee of $994 million had been agreed and information technology looked equally though it was all but complete. With news of EA'due south offering, the Codemasters lath has recommended that Take Two'due south offer be withdrawn, saying:
"In evaluating the EA Offering, the Codemasters Board has considered diverse aspects of the EA Offering and considers the EA Offering to stand for a superior offer for Codemasters' shareholders every bit compared with the Take-Two Offer,"
